One day in a beautiful village, there lived a boy named Kino. He lived with his father while his mother had died since Kino was 2 years old. They lived in a very small house. They had a very simple life. Kino's father was a hunter.
One day the father took Kino hunting in the forest. When the father was looking for targets, Kino suddenly saw a deer that was watching over them from afar. Kino was interested then he approached the deer but the deer ran off. He followed the deer. The father still did not realized that his son had gone.
The deer brought Kino to a place where many other animals had gathered.
"Who is he? Why did you bring him here? "Asked a rabbit
"I do not know why he followed me," replied the Deer
Kino could only pay attention to the animals’ behavior. Seemed to understand, Kino replied, "My name is Kino. I come from a neighboring village. I just wanted to get acquainted with you. Is it permissible to me to be your friend? "
"Friends? Men are our enemy. They killed our families. " replied the bird.
"THEY ARE VERY BAD!" Rabbit continued
Deer defended Kino, "He's not wrong. He did not know anything. People who are older than him, they are the bad ones!"
Kino explained all about his father. Kino then promised to the animals that her father would not hunt them anymore. Kino then went back to his father, accompanied by the deer. The father who had been looking for him felt very relieved when he found him.
"Where have you been? Father is worried about you, "said the father. Kino kept silent. "Let's go home," said the father.
At home, Kino told his father everything he had experienced. He asked his father not to hunt the animals anymore.
"How can you say that? We hunt for our living! If we do not hunt, we have got nothing to eat!" Shouted his father.
"Show them some sympathy, father. They're just like me. They do not have complete parents because of you, father. Don’t you feel sorry for them? “Said Kino.
In his anger, the father slapped Kino.
"If father is still hunting then, I will stay in the woods with them!" said Kino
Kino left his father and immediately ran into the woods. Kino told his animal friends about what happened between him and his father. "I pledge to you, if my father is still chasing you, I'm not going back to the house! I will stay here with you. "
It had been a month since Kino stayed in the forest. He was happy with his present life, although sometimes he missed his father. For a month since Kino left, the father still went hunting.
One day, his father went to the woods to hunt. He set a trap for animals that pass. Once the trap was attached, He waited behind a tree.
BRUUKK! The voice sounded like a falling object. Immediately the father went to the trap. "Hahaha, you're a stupid deer! Come home with me”. When he was removing the trap from the feet of the deer, the deer suddenly shouted. All animals in the forest, including Kino heard the cry. They immediately ran to the place where the sound came from.
When the father was finished with the deer, suddenly he was surprised to see many animals surrounding in anger. The father was silent, anxious about his fate. A group of monkeys attacked him. Kino suddenly came up with some friends, "Let him go! He is my father, "cried Kino.
"He wanted to kill me!” Said the deer.
“We're upset! He must be killed!" shouted a rabbit
"YES! Kill him!” Shouted an animal from behind.
Without thinking the monkeys attacked his father again. Could not bear to see his father, Kino immediately ran to protect his father. He suffered serious injuries because of the monkeys’ scratches.
Suddenly a deer that was a good friend of Kino shouted. "STOP! HE IS OUR FRIEND". Monkeys were immediately stopped their attack. Kino who was almost unconscious, approached by his father.
"My son, forgive me. You must be strong, I will take you to the doctor now. Be strong Kino, "said the father with tears in his eyes.
"I can’t make it father. You must promise me, for not hunting them again, "said Kino.
"I promise," the father said, hugging Kino. In the arms of his father, Kino saw a white shadow which was very familiar to him. His mother stood before him. Then Kino closed his eyes forever. His father cried and the monkeys regret it.
After Kino's death, his father never hunted the animals again. He decided to stay in the woods with the animals. He lived peacefully with the animals forever.
Moral Value :
1. All animals are almost the same with us. They have instinct to live together. Therefore, do not destroy the place where they live or kill them.
2. Hold something that you think is good and it does not harm others.
